Teams formed to crack murder case of woman lekhpal
Prayagraj: Three police teams have been formed to crack the murder case of a woman lekhpal, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Rajapur forest area of Chitrakoot on Sunday evening.
The deceased Kiran Rupauliha (50) was posted at Chail tehsil of Kaushambi district.
Kaushambi police are coordinating with their Chitrakoot counterparts to compile more information regarding the incident.
Cops have also been probing property angle as slain woman had properties in Rajapur area in Chitrakoot.
SP (Kaushambi) Brijesh Srivastava told TOI: “Three teams are working round-the-clock to compile information regarding the incident. A missing complaint was lodged at Pipri police station of Kaushambi on Sunday morning while her body was recovered in Chitrakoot on Sunday night. The autopsy report revealed anti-mortem injuries behind the death.” SP said cops have detained a man as the woman was last seen sitting inside his car near Chail area.
He said the owner of the car was acquainted with her and had dropped the woman at her in-laws house in Rajapur area.
Police said the woman had got job after the demise of her husband in 2018 under dependent quota. Police said the victim had left her house located at Rajruppur (Dhoomanganj) in Prayagraj on Saturday morning but did not turn up. Her son had lodged a missing complaint with Pipri police on Sunday morning.
