Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:56AM

Jyothy Labs(up 1.60%), Nakoda Group(up 1.23%), ADF Foods(up 0.73%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.69%), Parag Milk(up 0.55%), Dangee Dums(up 0.54%), Emami(up 0.46%), Britannia Industries(up 0.46%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.40%) and Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.34%) were among the top gainers.

Varun Beverages(down 1.89%), Marico(down 1.23%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.17%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.17%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.08%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.96%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.71%), Dabur India(down 0.61%), Nestle India(down 0.57%) and Prataap Snacks(down 0.56%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 8.15 points down at 17906.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 2.79 points at 60112.69 at around 10:56AM.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.94%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.65%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.37%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.36%), Infosys(up 1.11%), JSW Steel(up 0.85%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.83%), HCL Technologies(up 0.75%), Tata Motors(up 0.73%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.62%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 3.51%), Cipla(down 2.69%), Enterprises(down 2.01%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.47%), Eicher Motors(down 1.27%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.25%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.16%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.04%), Reliance Industries(down 0.95%) and Grasim Industries(down 0.85%) were trading in the red.
