Muda’s first adalat gets good response
Mysuru: The first adalat organised by Mysuru urban development authority (Muda) on Tuesday to resolve the problems faced by city residents witnessed a positive response, with many residents seeking an early solution to their problems including change in land use, khata transfer, a solution to the drinking water problem, etc. Many demanded improvements in the infrastructure in Muda layouts.
MUDA chairman Yashaswi S Somashekar presided over the adalat. Commissioner GT Dinesh Kumar was also present.
The complaints included delay in issuing khata for the last 18 years, delay in fixing tax for residential buildings, non-availability of CA sites, no space for parks, etc. Residents of Bogadi II stage demanded land for a park.
A resident from TK layout complained that she had yet to get a MUDA site even though she applied in 1994. She informed that in her application, her date of birth was wrongly mentioned. MUDA chairman assured her of a site in the upcoming layouts.
A few residents requested Muda to allot first-floor houses that are vacant in the Asha Mandira project at Sharadadevi Nagar.
A farmer alleged that even though he gave up six acres of land for the Muda layout, he was only granted one site. He asked officials to follow the bylaw rules and sanction him sites according to the law.
Residents of Lalithadri Nagar (north) layout alleged that they have yet to get Cauvery or Kabini water. Residents of Bogadi SBM layout urged the MUDA to hand over their layout to Srirampura town panchayat and alleged that this process was delayed unnecessarily.
Senior officials of MUDA were present in the adalat.
