In search of mental peace, young techies throng Mela
Prayagraj: In today’s fast-paced life, when money might come in easy, but peace of mind is hard to achieve, youngsters pursuing professional, post graduate and graduate degrees, are thronging the ongoing Magh Mela in search for spiritual wellbeing.
Several camps in Magh Mela are helping youths in meditation as well quenching their spiritual thirst. Those who could not make it to the mela campus, are getting connected online to receive spiritual lessons.
These youths hail not only from Sangam city but also from neighbouring cities like Varanasi, Lucknow and Kanpur or other states. Moreover, some of them are taking a break from their professional commitments to visit the annual religious fair.
Atul Pandey, working in multinational company in IT sector said: “Apart from achieving higher academic qualification and subsequent growth in professional field, what we need is some peace of mind. Many professionals want to distance themselves from materialism for a few days with meditation during the religious fair.” Pankaj, a student pursuing his master’s degree - who arrived at the camp of Charkhi Dadri (Haryana) at sector five, believes that “Apart from pursuing a career, I want to know about the significance of meditation and spiritualism in our lives. Despite having a busy schedule, I spare time to interact with seers and saints to learn meditation tips and other similar activities to cleanse our minds of negative thoughts.”
National president of Akhil Bharatiya Dandi Sanyasi Parishad, Pithadhishwar Swami Brahmashram Maharaj said: “The number of young professionals and students who visit camps to interact with saints and seers and ask about the steps to attain peace of mind is increasing every year.”
Maharaj said gurus, apart from advising to focus on studies or professional work, also advise them to spare some time to perform meditation and yoga.
Noted spiritual guru Amitabh Gour said: “People from all walks of life are connecting with their gurus either offline or online to find out ways to get mental peace.” Thirtyfive-year-old young entrepreneur Ankur said: “Apart from having professional work and life, I want to take spiritual experience to attain peace of mind and ongoing Magh Mela is the best and suitable spot for the same.” He said every individual must come to the banks of Ganga to learn the real meaning of devotion and spiritualism.
Swapnil, another professional from Noida and associated with Nageshwar dham, said: “The banks of Ganga are real meditation and spiritual centres for devotees of all ages. I have been visiting Magh Mela every year since my study days and has even decided to observe kalpwas in days to come.” A resident of Kanpur and a BTech student, Prateek Pandey said: “I along with my family arrived at mela campus to spend few days at the camp of Acharya Bada and attend meditation sessions. The recitation of shlokas and mantras at the camp rejuvenates our minds.”
