Triple suicide: Man killed son, wife first

Vadodara: Investigations into the death of three family members have revealed that Pritesh Mistry first killed his wife Sneha and 7-year-old son Harshil who were smothered to death at their residence on Waghodia Road before he hung himself.
“We have sent their samples for viscera to ascertain if the deceased had consumed any poisonous material,” said a police official.
Mistry and his family were found dead by his mother on Monday morning. Deceased had left a note behind mentioning that the family was taking the extreme step due to financial debts.
“He had taken dozens of loans from different banks and institutions. Mistry was into stockbroking and may have possibly lost money in shares. We have written to the banks where he had accounts to get his financial statements,” the police added.
Interestingly, despite being under severe debt, Mistry had bought a car and a bike some time ago. He then sold off both the vehicles, said cops adding that they are still gathering evidence if Mistry was being threatened to repay the loans.
“He had a very good relationship with his wife and in-laws. We are investigating if there was any other reason behind the extreme step,” a police official said.
