Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:40AM

Aro Granite Industries(up 5.05%), NMDC Ltd(up 3.62%), Dvpt Corporation(up 2.12%), 20 Microns(up 1.59%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.32%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.86%), MOIL(up 0.64%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.57%) and Coal India(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 1.20%), KIOCL(down 0.23%) and Pokarna(down 0.07%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 39.3 points up at 17953.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 167.45 points at 60282.93 at around 10:40AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.95%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.82%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.76%), Infosys(up 1.35%), JSW Steel(up 1.22%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.18%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.17%), HCL Technologies(up 1.06%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.04%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 3.1%), Cipla(down 2.85%), Enterprises(down 1.41%), Eicher Motors(down 1.16%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.97%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.94%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.93%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.92%), Grasim Industries(down 0.71%) and Reliance Industries(down 0.7%) were trading in the red.
