Millet mela at NYF, over 20 stalls set up
Dharwad: The National Youth Festival (NYF) which will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on January 12, has given special importance to millets. The event will not just showcase the youth's talent but will be a forum to promote millets.
Special stalls are being put up for this purpose.
Millet and superfood manufacturers are invited, with the help of the University of agricultural sciences, Dharwad, and Krishi Vigyana Kendra, Haveri. They can collaborate with government and private partnerships from Tumakuru, Uttara Kannada, and Vijayapura. With the help of the University of agricultural sciences, two start-ups will sell millets and superfoods.
Varieties of millets such as Jowar, Korle, Bajra, Ragi will be showcased and sold.
Karnataka is at the forefront of millet cultivation in the country. The government is making effort to boost the importance of this superfood, in addition to encouraging new enterprises to open.
