NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Aro Granite Industries(up 4.63%), NMDC Ltd(up 4.35%), 20 Microns(up 0.93%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.69%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.16%) and Dvpt Corporation(up 0.16%) stood among the top gainers.

Pokarna(down 2.49%), Coal India(down 1.55%), KIOCL(down 0.90%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.80%), Oriental Trimex(down 0.60%) and MOIL(down 0.06%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 18.45 points down at 17895.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 9.98 points at 60105.5.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.81%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.6%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.48%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.47%), HDFC Bank(up 1.44%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.29%), Tata Motors(up 1.28%), JSW Steel(up 1.21%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.89%) and HDFC(up 0.76%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 3.44%), Cipla(down 2.88%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.58%), Enterprises(down 2.37%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.91%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.71%), Coal India(down 1.55%), Nestle India(down 1.33%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.29%) and Reliance Industries(down 1.26%) closed in the red.
