It was a proud moment for the 'RRR' family when 'Naatu Naatu' from the blockbuster took home the Golden Globes 2023 for Best Original Song in Motion Picture on Wednesday.
To celebrate the victory, the cast of the movie, Ram Charan and NTR Jr, attended the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Actor Ram Charan took to social media to share the happy moments from the red carpet as well as the ballroom where the ceremony was taking place.
"And we won the Golden Globes," an excited Ram Charan wrote in his caption alongside a picture of himself with director SS Rajamouli, NTR Jr and music composer MM Keeravani, who accepted the award on stage.
The 'RRR' team was accompanied by Ram Charan's entrepreneur-wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, NTR Jr's wife Pranathi Nandamuri, MM Keeravani's wife Srivalli, and Rajamouli's son SS Karthikeya and wife Rama.
NTR Jr and Rajamouli also shared pictures from the awards night.
The fast-paced Telugu track 'Naatu Naatu', composed by veteran music director MM Keeravaani and penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, was up against Taylor Swift's 'Carolina' from 'Where The Crawdads Sing', 'Ciao Papa' from 'Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio', Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' from 'Top Gun: Maverick' and Rihanna's 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.
'RRR' was also competing in the Best Non-English Language Film category, but the Argentine historical drama 'Argentina, 1985' won the honour.
Set in pre-Independence, the fictional story is inspired by real-life Indian revolutionary heroes Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The movie also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
Set in the 1920s, the plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.
