Mangaluru: The primary school students of Sri Chaitanya Techno School in the city, officially attempted and entered the ‘World Book of Records’, London, with the most number of students reciting multiplication tables from 1-100. It was held on Thursday last week, at the school campus.
In this event, including Karnataka, there were children from 10 states, 73 branches, and more than 2,000 primary school students participated.
Ramakrishna Bhogyam, AGM of the institution, said that a total 31 students from the Mangaluru school participated in the record-making attempt, and they completed the mathematics tables from 1-100, in 100 minutes. “To prepare for creating the record, the selected students underwent 100 days of training. As a result, they were able to recite 1-100 tables within 100 minutes. This is the third ‘World Book of Records’ for the institution.
Vanaja NS, principal of the school, said that teachers had prepared the children for the record.
In 2019, as many as 426 children from Mangaluru, and 1.4 lakh children from 340 schools of seven states, joined together for a world record on mass
sports drill and 45 yogasanas. This was performed in several places at the same time, to enter the Elite World Records. The participants set records by completing the drill in seven minutes and two seconds, and 45 yogasanas in just 18 minutes and 22 seconds. Another one is the world record of ‘Most Students Identifying Maps of Most Countries’, that was set in 2018.
