Family of CAs adds 7th member to its list
Surat: A fourth generation Chartered Accountant (CA) Tarit Vepari wishes to contribute his knowledge equally both to his profession and social welfare as well. Vepari cleared his CA final exam in the first attempt and scored 478 marks out of 800 in the results announced on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old has decided to follow in the footsteps of family’s elders as he observed that they could do social service better being qualified as CAs. Vepari’s great grandfather Natvarlal was a registered accountant in pre-independence period and after India became independent the registered accountants were recognised as CA.
“Those registered accountant and CA affiliated to the UK CA institute were recognised as CAs soon after independence when the CA Act came into force. He practised from his office in Mumbai Fort,” Vepari recalled.
Among Natwarlal’s descendants the family now has seven CAs. Vepari will join his family firm Natvarlal Vepari and Company that started originally in Mumbai before independence and later shifted to Muglisara in the city and finally operating from Nanpura. “My grandfather Ravindrabhai shifted to the city and started working here. Later, my father Hiren joined him in the firm,” said Vepari, who cleared his previous exams of CPT in 2018 and intermediate in 2019 in first attempt. With an inclination for social causes Vepari worked for NGOs during his articleship as an intern. “I noticed my grandfather that he was not just active as a CA but contributed for social causes. And hence, I too decided to follow him and my father,” said Vepari.
