No all-party meet called over Mhadei, claims Patkar
Panaji: Goa Congress president Amit Patkar on Wednesday said that chief minister Pramod Sawant’s statement of having called an all-party meeting to discuss the Mhadei issue was “totally false”.
Sawant, who led a seven-member delegation to meet Union home minister Amit Shah over the river diversion issue, on Wednesday said that the opposition members were not invited to join the Goa delegatoin because they did not attend the all-party meeting called to discuss the Mhadei matter.
“It is totally a false statement by the chief minister. I dare the chief minister to prove when he called an all-party meeting on the Mhadei,” said Patkar.
Congress also questioned why the delegation was not meeting the Prime Minister as promised by the CM on December 30
Patkar pointed out that Sawant had declared on December 30 that he would write to the Prime Minister demanding withdrawal of the approval given to the detailed project report (DPR) of the Kalasa-Bhandura project.
“What happened to that letter. Why are you meeting the home minister and not the Prime Minister?” said Patkar.
