JAIPUR: After demolishing a five-storey building housing the coaching institute run by exam paper leak suspects, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Tuesday inspected the residential properties of prime accused Bhupendra Saran and Suresh Dhaka, who are on the run.
The JDA has sent a notice over illegal constructions found at Saran's property and sought a response by 5pm on January 12 from the accused and his family.
Officials also inspected Dhaka's flat but found that it was constructed as per JDA norms.
Raghuveer Saini, chief controller, enforcement wing of JDA, said, "As soon as the private residence of Bhupendra Saran, the main accused in the teacher recruitment examination paper leak case came under lens, the enforcement branch of the JDA along with its technical and revenue team went for spot inspection. Plot owners Bhupendra Saran and Gopal Saran have been issued notices under Section-32 of the JDA Act and response has been sought regarding the illegal constructions marked by the team. Depending on the response, action will be taken."
Officials said the plot was purchased by Saran and his brother Gopal as per the registry on November 27, 2017.
Team also inspected flat of 2nd accused Suresh Dhaka“A four-storey residential building has been constructed with balconies on road boundaries at the back of the structure. Apart from this, the two-storey construction above the payable eight-metre height in the said building is illegal, made without the approval of JDA,” said the official.
The team also inspected the flat of Suresh Dhaka, the second main accused in the paper leak case. Officials found that Dhaka’s flat — plot number 191 to 201 in Nemi Nagar, Vaishali Nagar — was in the name of his father Mangilal.
The flat was in a building named ‘Ashapurna Empire Residential’, built about 10years ago under group housing and according to the approved JDA map.
When asked why the Adhigam Coaching Centre building was demolished on Monday, Saini said, “That building was an old construction and built without following norms. In the past few years, JDA has been very strict about illegal constructions and taking immediate action.”
He added, “Illegal commercial activities were going on from the building which was illegally constructed on a residential plot. The institute was also run by the key suspects in the paper leak case. JDA acts on illegal constructions strictly and will continue to carry out regular inspections.”
