Nayana’s family meets Pinarayi

Thiruvananthapuram: The family of the young filmmaker Nayana Surya, who was found dead at her apartment here at Althara in 2019, has approached chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday seeking a transparent probe and also action against the officers who probed the case earlier.
Nayana’s father Dineshan, mother Sheela, brother Madhu and sister Praveen met the chief minister. They were accompanied by Congress leader M Liju and former minister and CPM leader Mercykutty Amma. The family submitted a request before the CM seeking a CBI probe, if the probe does not yield any result in future.
“The CM paid attention to our concerns and also promised a transparent probe. He told us that let the new team probe the case and he will personally monitor the developments. We are hopeful of the words of the chief minister and of the new probe team,” said Madhu.
He also said that the probe team told them earlier that Nayana committed suicide as she was suffering from a psychological disorder.
