Fourth round of admission to ayurveda, homoeopathy courses begins

AHMEDABAD: The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) on Monday announced that the fourth round of admissions in homoeopathy and ayurveda courses has started. The students have to give their online consent to participate in the admission round starting from January 9 and the last date to give consent will be January 13.
The committee statement said that the detailed schedule of the fourth round will be announced later. This round is to fill stray vacancies and it will be conducted offline.
The committee also said that in the third round of admissions, a total of 2,753 students have been allocated seats and as on January 9, 1,392 students have confirmed their admissions by paying their tuition fees. The last date for confirming admissions is January 10 and the students have to report to the help centres latest by January 11, a statement from the committee said.
As per a committee statement at the end of the second round, 825 seats had remained vacant. These seats include 185 seats for ayurveda and 640 seats for homoeopathy. Apart from this, 600 new seats have been sanctioned in five ayurveda colleges and three homoeopathy colleges. These new seats include 380 ayurveda and 220 homoeopathy seats. During the ongoing mop-up round these seats will be filled.
