Inter-state burglar involved in thefts arrested
Mysuru: Mysuru district police have uncovered a major burglary reported in August and arrested an inter-state burglar having criminal records in various parts of Karnataka and Andhra.
Superintendent of police Seema Latkar appreciated the police teams for their achievement and said about 790 grams of gold and 499 grams of silver were recovered from the arrested.
The 35-year-old accused, against whom various criminal cases are pending, had teamed-up with three known offenders in Karnataka and had burgled a house belonging to a distributor in T Narasipura. They entered a locked house belonging to Shrinivas in T Narasipura town on August 21 and had taken away 3 kilos and 250 grams of gold valuables, 12 kilos of silver and Rs 30 lakh cash.
The gang had opened a safety locker using a drilling machine and within a span of one hour, they took away a huge amount of valuables and cash. The crime came to light later in the day when Shrinivas returned home.
Efforts of three police teams helped uncover the major crime reported in Mysuru, said the SP. One of the accused is now in judicial custody in Hassan for involvement in another crime. His arrest has led to five cases – including two in T Narasipura (Mysuru), one in Gadag, and two in Belagavi districts.
