Mysuru: Mysuru Urban Development Authority (Muda) has decided to distribute 312 civic amenities besides giving approval for over 472 new development works worth Rs 729.6 crore for the 2022-23 fiscal year, said its chairman Yashaswi S Somashekhar.
He told reporters here on Monday that a decision to this effect was taken at the monthly meeting chaired by him on Sunday.
The new works include the promotion of horticulture activities, and the development of basic facilities like roads, streetlights, underground drainage, and drinking water facilities for all layouts developed by Muda. The meeting also decided to complete 444 pending works it has undertaken for several years.
The meeting has also set aside Rs 208.75 crore of its share for its ambitious Haleunduvadi drinking water project, which aims at ensuring drinking water for over 92 villages of the Chamundeshwari assembly segment in which several new layouts have come up. Muda has planned to release Rs 100 crore for this project, but as the project cost has escalated to Rs 615 crore, it decided to release Rs 208 crore, he said.
The authority has received 446 applications for distribution of 220 CA sites so far, but it has not received any applications for the remaining 92 CA sites. It will distribute the 220 sites among the applicants after taking the necessary approval in the next general meeting. It also decided to distribute H-category sites to the applicants too.
Somashekhar said the meeting also decided to construct 560 three-bedroom houses at Vijayanagar fourth stage, and 392 houses at Dattagalli under the group housing scheme. It also initiated the development of a new layout on 50: 50 ratio partnerships with landowners at Daripura in Jayapura Hobli and another layout at Bommenahalli in Yelwal Hobli.
Muda has also planned to build an international cricket stadium for which it has identified 20 acres and three guntas of land at Sathagalli B Zone in the city.
Somashekhar said MUDA will sign a memorandum of understanding with the University of Mysore’s school of planning and architecture as it has experts to share their knowledge and expertise for the planned growth of the city, including the conservation of hundreds of heritage structures spread across Mysuru.
It also decided to allot one acre and 20 guntas to the Mysuru City Corporation for the construction of a multi-level parking lot for vehicles entering from Mysuru south to ease traffic congestion in the central business district. Muda will also provide plots to MCC for the construction of its zonal offices at Gayathripuram at auctioned rate.
The meeting also decided to allot sites of different measurements for Mysuru Milk Union Limited for the construction of Nandini Milk Galaxies for the promotion of its products under one roof.
