Railways cancels 267 trains due to fog

Indian Railways cancelled 267 trains on Monday due to bad weather conditions. These included 82 express, 140 passenger and 40 sub-urban trains, a railway official said.
On Sunday, foggy weather had affected the movement of over 480 trains. While 335 trains have been delayed or “lost punctuality”, 88 were cancelled, 31 diverted and 33 short terminated. Officials said train services have been affected as visibility reduced considerably on Monday morning due to a dense layer of fog that extended from Punjab and adjoining Rajasthan to Bihar through Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The low visibility led to slow speed of trains in several parts of north India.
