Shilpa Shetty-Richard Gere kissing incident: Bombay HC seeks response from State on actress’ plea to quash the complaint

In the infamous kissing incident of Shilpa Shetty and Hollywood actor Richard Gere at an event back in 2007, the Bombay High Court has reportedly sought a response from the Maharashtra government on a plea filed by the actress to quash the complaint filed against her. To give a little background, advocate Poonam Chand Bhandari had filed a complaint against the two actors on grounds of 'obscenity' after Richard publicly kissed Shilpa at an event. Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer has reportedly argued, ‘The object of the event organised was charitable and to spread the awareness of AIDS. Only some disgruntled people gave it a bad light due to the incident only to gain undue publicity since celebrities are involved.’For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
