Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:04AM

Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.52%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.22%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.53%), EID Parry(up 0.43%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.31%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.05%) were among the top gainers.

Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.07%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.82%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 1.64%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.57%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.34%), Sakthi Sugars(down 1.24%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 1.21%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 1.11%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.06%) and Rana Sugars(down 0.99%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 122.6 points down at 17978.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 454.19 points at 60293.12 at around 10:04AM.

Tata Motors(up 6.11%), Tata Steel(up 1.19%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.07%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.05%), Enterprises(up 1.01%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.84%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.77%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.3%), JSW Steel(up 0.29%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consultancy(down 2.48%), Eicher Motors(down 1.84%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.65%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.45%), Infosys(down 1.44%), HDFC Bank(down 1.4%), State Bank of India(down 1.36%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.35%), ITC(down 1.11%) and HDFC(down 1.08%) were trading in the red.
