Utkal law students appeal for teachers
Bhubaneswar: Students of PG department of law on Monday demanded drinking water facilities, hygienic toilets, patking lot, books in the library and appointment of teachers. A group of students submitted the memoranda to Utkal University registrar Avaya Kumar Nayak.
Prakash Das, one of the students, said the department has three permanent faculty and no guest lecturers. “The three teachers have administrative responsibilities too. We need more teachers,” he added.
He said classrooms and ceilings require immediate renovation. “During the summer, the heatwave is tolerable. The university needs to install air-conditioners. The water purifier is also not in a working condition. We need potable drinking water,” he added.
Another student Ramakanta Sahu said washrooms of the department need to be properly maintained. “Sufficient books and study materials are also required in the university library. e-library resources are also needed,” he added.
He said erection of hoarding displaying the name of the department is needed.
“We face inconvenience in parkong our vehicles due to lack of parking lots. Road leading to our department is in a dismal condition,” he added.
