UPDATE: 911 services for both cellphones, landlines fully restored

All 911 centers are fully operational an able to accept calls from both cellphones and landlines amid technical issues earlier this afternoon.

Tina Bricker, St. Clair County Central Dispatch director, had advised in a release shortly before 4:30 p.m. that 911 services could only be reached from landlines amid technical issues with the statewide 911 system.

Residents had been advised to text 911 for services, which are monitored by dispatch staff. However, within the hour, the county announced services were fully restored.

St. Clair County residents can currently only reach 911 services from landlines amid technical issues with the statewide system.

No cause for those issues was reported by county emergency officials, and no other information was immediately available.
