CHIKKAMAGALURU: The Chikkamagaluru district has a total of 10,268 first-time voters aged between 18 and 19 years.
The district administration has released the final voter list and the district has a total of 9.45 lakh voters in five assembly segments.
With 2,224 new voters, the Sringeri assembly segment has the highest number of first-time voters, followed by Chikkamagaluru with 2,167 voters. Mudigere has 1,562, and Tarikere and Kadur's segments have 2,159 and 2,156 new voters, respectively.
The district has a total of 9,45,151 voters and Chikkamagaluru is the biggest assembly segment in the district with 2,19,581 total voters. Sringeri assembly constituency has 1,66,571 voters and Mudigere has a total of 1,68,459. Tarikere and Kadur's segments have 1,88,789 and 2,01,759 eligible voters, respectively.
'Check names in list'According to deputy commissioner K N Ramesh, a voter without his/her name in the electoral roll will not able to cast vote even if they have an Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC). However, still, the voters can enrol names in the list and he asked the people to check their names in the list.
The voters can check names online by visiting www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in or by visiting polling stations, and taluk offices. A total of 73.29% of voters linked their EPIC with Aadhaar numbers and 8, 325 physically handicapped voters have obtained Unique Disability Identification Cards (UDID).
