IED detected during search operation in Rajouri
A major tragedy was averted with the timely detection of a powerful ready-to-use Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district late Sunday. The explosive was detected during a search operation in Budhal area’s Dandote village.
Searches by joint teams of police, special operations group and the Army are ongoing in Rajouri to track down terrorists involved in killing villagers in Dhangri on January 1. The IED was recovered during one such search operation. “The bomb disposal squad was immediately called in and the IED was defused on the spot and later was destroyed in a controlled manner,” a police officer said.
