Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.83% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:30AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 7.38 per cent), Tata Motors(up 6.05 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 2.99 per cent), Bosch(up 1.44 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors(down 1.71 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.33 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.11 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.66 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.83 per cent at 12888.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 108.65 points at 17992.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 406.9 points at 60340.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, , , PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , Varanium Cloud Ltd. and Homesfy Realty Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Educomp Sols., . and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
