HEC execs strike on, workers to submit memo to CM
Ranchi: Executives of Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd. (HEC), Ranchi, who have been on a strike for the past 68 days to demand salaries that have remained unpaid for the past 14 months, continued with their indefinite sit-in, at the main gates of the PSU on Monday.
"We have been on an indefinite dharna to demand payment for work done. We have also been demanding direct talks with the secretary, ministry of heavy industries. Unfortunately we have failed to draw the attention of the Union government and HEC CMD so far. We shall continue with our stir, till our voices are heard," the agitating executives said.
The striking executives on Monday also shot off a letter to the HEC director (finance) requesting him to make public data relating to revenue collection and salary disbursements from 2020 till date "to maintain employee trust".
"We want to know what has happened to all the money that have flowed into HEC coffers over the past two years. Once we get the required data, we shall take steps, as needed," they added.
"On January 11, representatives of all the seven HEC unions would submit a joint memorandum to chief minister Hemant Soren, requesting immediate intervention by the state government, to save HEC from sliding into oblivion," Bhawan Singh, president, Hatia Mazdoor Union, said.
