Traffic diversion at T Nagar to stay till May '24 in Chennai
CHENNAI: Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) have announced that the traffic diversions introduced on a trial basis on Mambalam high road in T Nagar to facilitate CMRL (Chennai Metro Rail Limited) works has been made permanent from January 9, 2023 to May 7, 2024. Traffic will be closed on Mambalam High road from Habibullah road to Thiyagaraya Gramanistreet. This came into effect on trial basis from December 25 and will be inplace till December 31.
LMV (Light motor vehicles) from Mambalam High Road going to Kodambakkam bridge is restricted at the Junction of Thiyagaraya Gramani road and can take a diversion through Thyagaraya Gramani road, North Usman Road and Habibullah Road.
LMVs from Kodambakkam Bridge side, along the Mambalam High Road going to T Nagar are restricted at the junction of Habibullah Road and Mambalam High road junction can go through Habibullah Road and North Usman Road, a release from the department said.
