‘Centre hopes to turn AIIMS into institutes of global excellence’
Bhubaneswar: Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday said the Centre’s vision is to turn all the AIIMS into institutes of global excellence and that can only happen with superior quality, clinical care, highest standards of medical education and cutting-edge research, he said while attending the 6th Central Institute Body meeting of AIIMS here. For the first time, CIB meeting was organized outside Delhi. CIB is the highest decision-making body of AIIMS in finance, infrastructure, vacancy, recruitment, enforcement of policies, challenges and procurement.
During the meeting, Mandaviya encouraged dignitaries to take lessons from other institutes of national importance like IITs and IIMs. He highlighted the need for creation of metadata for artificial intelligence (AI) and a professional work culture that can provide superior outcome. He advised all AIIMS directors to create innovative models of functioning and present them in the next CIB meeting. He urged all the officials to work towards making AIIMS capable of competing with the best in the world. TNN
