Joshimath declared as disaster-prone area, Centre to take stock: Chamoli DM

Speaking on the Joshimath land subsidence, the District Magistrate of Chamoli, Himanshu Khurana on January 09 said that Joshimath has been declared disaster-prone area. Two teams of Central government including a team of Jal Shakti Ministry would be arriving at the location. Talking to ANI on the issue, Khurana said, “Joshimath area has been declared disaster-prone. 2 teams of Central government including a team of Jal Shakti ministry are arriving here. Construction activities have been banned in Joshimath and nearby areas. Dry ration kits are being distributed to affected people.”
