Gurgaon: After two failed attempts, the enforcement team of
MCG along with police was finally able to raze a boundary wall illegally built near Jharsa Bundh in Badshapur on Sunday. According to the Assistant engineer (enforcement) Krishan Kumar, the team had got information that one Om Tyagi and his sons were trying to encroach the area by building a wall on the Jharsa dam. “On January 5, a team led by supervisor Praveen reached the spot to inspect when they were attacked by a group of men.
Next day, MCG issued a show-cause notice to them. However, when the team led by ssistant engineer Neeraj and junior engineer Kapil reached the spot on Saturday to stop the construction, Om Tyagi and some other people tried to snatch their mobile phones and assaulted them,” Kumar told the police.
“The mob threatened the team of dire consequences and tried to snatch the mobile phones of the officials. Later, we filed a written complaint against them at Sector 65 police station,” he added.
An FIR under sections 186 (voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his public functions), 447 (criminal trespass), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of
common intention) of the IPC was registered on Saturday. However, the civic body along with police reached the spot on Sunday and demolished the illegal structure.
Sudhir Kumar, SHO of Sector 65 police station said that after getting a complaint from the assistant engineer MCG enforcement, the police have registered an FIR and started investigation against the accused and they will be nabbed soon. MCG in a release said, “The team of MCG reached village Badshapur with JCB and police force and demolished the structure which was being constructed by some persons by illegally occupying the land. During the entire demolition process, joint commissioner Sumit Kumar was present. The SHO of the area deployed a police force to prevent any protest and maintain law and order.”
