Police nab criminal wanted in Mcoca case in Thane

THANE: Daighar police on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old chain snatcher. The accused has been identified as Assu Sayyad, 32, a resident of Ambivali in Kalyan. He was wanted in the MCOCA case registered by the Mumbai Police.
Police said the accused was nabbed by the anti-chain snatching squad of the Daighar police station when Sayyad and his accomplice tried to avoid police while riding bike on high speed. Cops managed to get hold of Sayyad while accomplice managed to flee. The police have recovered a knife from him.
During interrogation he told police about his involvent in an incident of chain snatching recently near Gaondevi temple.
“We are trying to find out about their involvement in other cases and also trying to get the information of their accomplices," said senior inspector of Daighar police station Sachin Gawde.
