Three killed as bus falls off Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj district
The bus carrying 30 passengers was coming from Anand Vihar in Delhi.
KANNAUJ: Three passengers were killed while six others injured after a private bus fell off the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Thatia police station area in Kannauj district late Sunday night.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and instructed the district magistrate and senior police officials to ensure that proper treatment is being provided to the injured.
According to the police, a private bus was going from Delhi to Sultanpur when at around 9.30pm on Sunday, due to dense fog, it overturned and fell off the e-way near Bansuria village under Thathia police station area. Three people died on the spot in the accident.
The bus carrying 30 passengers was coming from Anand Vihar in Delhi, superintendent of police Kunwar Anupam Singh said.
Six of the passengers were seriously injured in the accident and they have been admitted to Tirwa Medical college.
The deceased have been identified as Anita Bajpai (50), Sanjana (25) and Devansh (11), all residents of Rae Bareli district.
