Harassed by wife, man kills son, self

Vadodara: An autorickshaw driver killed his 10-year-old son before taking his own life at his house in Bapod on Saturday afternoon. Paresh Sikhligar, 32, took the extreme step when he was alone with his son at their home in Bapod locality on the outskirts of the city.
The police said that he left a suicide note blaming his wife for the drastic step.
According to the police, Sikhligar first strangled his son Charmis to death with a piece of cloth before he used a rope to hang himself to death. The couple had been married for around 12 to 15 years, cops said. In the suicide note receovered from the spot, the deceased claimed that his wife Asha used to harass him a lot and that he was facing trouble. He also said that he had paid off the loans and also sold his auto rickshaw.
In the note, Sikhligar mentioned a few pending instalments to two persons and asked his sister to put up his house on rent to pay off the pending dues. He further said that his wife used to argue with him over minor things and dominated him. Apologizing to his sister for taking the extreme step, he asked her to stay in peace. TNN
