Man dies after being hit during bullock cart race

Mandya: A villager died while another was seriously injured during a bullock-cart race at Chikkamandya village on Sunday. Nagaraju (42) from Keelara village died on the spot while Ritvik (16) from Huliwana village was injured, according to police. They were among a multitude of people watching the bullock cart race on Sunday afternoon in the village located in Mandya taluk. One of the bullock carts veered out of control of its driver and ran over the spectators, according to police. The injured persons have been admitted to Mandya Institute of medical science hospital in Mandya. Ritvik’s condition is critical as he has sustained injuries to his chest, MIMS director Dr Mahendra Kumar said. tnn
