Ranchi shootout case: HAM-S removes Danish Rizwan for attack on woman

PATNA: Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) removed its national secretary general-cum- national spokesperson Danish Rizwan from all posts in the party on Sunday.
A Ranchi police team arrested Danish from Ara on Thursday (January 5) in an attempt to murder case. Ranchi SSP Kishore Kaushal on Saturday said Danish was the "actual conspirator" behind the murderous attack on Sushma Badaik in Ranchi on December 13, 2022. Sushma, who had been in the news a few years back for accusing a senior Jharkhand cadre IPS officer of rape, was shot at by bike-borne criminals near Sahjanand Chowk in Ranchi.
The Ranchi SSP revealed that Sushma had registered a case of sexual exploitation against Danish with Patna Secretariat police station on September 14 last year.
In that case, Sushma had alleged that Danish was the biological father of her son and she was insisting for a DNA match of Danish with her son's.
Kaushal said the investigation revealed that Danish approached his brother-in-law (wife's brother) Farhan Khan and hatched a conspiracy to get rid of Sushma.
"In view of the recent incidents related to Danish, the party leadership has decided to remove him from all posts. Now, Danish is not holding any post in our party," the HAM-S newly appointed national spokesperson Shyam Sunder Sharan said on Sunday. Earlier on Friday, Manjhi defended Danish, saying "he has been falsely implicated by the woman".
As Sushma had named some high-profile persons in the FIR related to the murderous attack on her, the Ranchi police formed a special investigation team headed by city SP Naushad Alam for a thorough investigation in the case.
The Ranchi SSP said the CCTV footage near the spot revealed that the attack on Sushma was made by three persons, who were later identified as Farhan, Md Mudassir and Umar Alias Guddu. Farhan and Mudassir were arrested from Lucknow on Friday and brought to Ranchi on Saturday.
Police also revealed that Farhan roped in Mudassir and Umar alias Guddu to execute the crime and made several attempts to eliminate Sushma.
