Labourer tied to pole beaten up in Unnao village

Kanpur: A 35-year-old labourer was allegedly tied to a pole and beaten up in Unnao's Bibipur village. The incident came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Saturday.
Circle officer Deepak Singh said, "The video is old, but we have taken cognizance and a probe has been ordered."
According to village sources, Sunil, a labourer, and a resident of Bibipur village, was abusing passersby in an inebriated state near his house. The husband of the former village head, while passing on the same road, thought that Sunil was abusing him. He caught hold of Sunil with the help of his aides and dragged him to his house. "First he was made to take off his clothes, then they tied him to a pole with a rope and beat him up," the sources further said and added, "When Sunil went to lodge a complaint at the Mohaan police outpost, the police, on the contrary, threatened to implicate him on molestation charges".
