HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will start his tour districts again from January 12, inaugurating new integrated district collectorate complexes among other projects.
KCR's district tours are expected to raise the political temperature as state will see assembly polls this year. Also, the talk of BRS chief likely to go for early election has gained momentum going by the targets given by the CM to agencies and officials to complete prestigious projects such as collectorate buildings, secretariat complex, 125-ft Ambedkar statue, the new Telangana Martyrs memorial, 3 lakh financial assistance for construction of own house to eligible beneficiaries having land among other schemes and projects.
KCR would inaugurate the new collectorate office of Mahbubabad district on January 12. On the same day, he would inaugurate the new collectorate complex of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. After Sankranti, the CM would inaugurate the new integrated collector office of Khammam district on January 18.
The inauguration of both Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Khammam district collectorate complexes assumes significance as BRS has been struggling to strengthen the party in these two districts, a stronghold of Congress, TDP and Left parties.
In the two districts having 10 assembly constituencies, BRS had won only Khammam seat in the 2018 assembly polls, which is now represented by transport minister P
Ajay Kumar.
Later, all other MLAs from Congress, TDP among others joined BRS, except Bhatti Vikramarka (Madhira) and Podem Veeraiah (Bhadrachalam) of Congress.
Also, there is infighting in BRS in Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts with a group led by transport minister Ajay Kumar, other by former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and the third one by former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
