Court adjourns bail pleas of Thampi in Titanium job fraud
Thiruvananthapuram: The sixth additional district sessions court judge K Vishnu on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the anticipatory bail pleas of Sasikumaran Thampi, AGM (legal) at Travancore Titanium Products Ltd (TTPL), over titanium job fraud to Monday.
The bail pleas were moved by Thampi in connection with the cases registered at Cantonment and woman police stations for cheating candidates offering jobs at TTPL. Thampi is the fourth accused in both the cases. The counsel pleading for the accused sought more time for considering the bail pleas and it was granted.
Earlier on Friday, the court dismissed the bail plea of Thampi in connection with a case registered by Poojappura police for cheating a Parassala-based woman Rs 14 lakhs offering a job at TTPL.
Additional public prosecutor M Salahuddin pleaded before the court not to grant bails as the probe team has to collect crucial evidence from him. The candidates were allegedly interviewed by Thampi at his office at TTPL. Thampi was a classmate and friend of Syamlal, the main accused in the case. Syamlal and Divya Jyothi, other accused in the case, are being questioned by the probe team.
