Three CUK faculty members receive flak for selfie in RSS attire

Kalaburagi: A picture of three assistant professors of Central University of Karnataka in RSS uniform holding a danda has become viral after the picture was posted on social media. It is also alleged that the three professors took the selfie at an RSS rally held on the CUK campus at the time. This selfie then became viral on social media and courted controversy.
Alok Kumar Gaurav is an assistant professor of public administration; Vijayendra Pandey is an assistant professor of psychiatry and Rakesh Kumar is a professor of life science. A selfie of these three professors with a student in RSS attire has become viral. CUK registrar Basavaraj Donoor told a reporter that according to university norms, faculty members should not engage in political activities. "Professors in RSS uniforms have not come to my attention. However, we will look into it and take action.
Staff at the university are upset by the development, and say they can't identify with any organisation and cannot take part in any activities other than academic and research-related ones.
