Man shot dead by co-worker in office in Greater Noida

GREATER NOIDA: A 52-year-old project security officer (PSO) of Coforge Limited, a private technology firm in Tech Zone, was allegedly shot dead by his co-worker inside the office premises on Saturday afternoon after the duo had an argument.
Police have not received any complaint yet but have filed an FIR against the accused under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Cops said Arj Kumar, who used a licensed gun to shoot the victim, is currently on the run.
The victim, Chand, was rushed to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida with a bullet injury in his chest around 4pm.
The hospital then contacted the police.
"Chand died in the hospital due to a bullet injury in the chest. We took possession of the body and sent it for an autopsy," a senior police officer said.
A police team also visited the company site in Tech Zone. "Our investigation revealed that Kumar, also a PSO, had met Chand in an inebriated state. The duo had a heated argument, after which Kumar took out his licensed pistol and shot Chand in the chest before fleeing the spot. The police team is now checking CCTV footage obtained from the office," the officer added.
Company officials could not be reached for a comment despite repeated attempts.
Last week, on Wednesday, a former BPO firm employee, enraged over being fired from his job for "bad behaviour", allegedly shot at his ex-boss inside the office premises in Sector 2, Noida, and fled the spot.
