Hit by truck, escort vehicle rams Vij’s car

Gurgaon: The official vehicle of home minister Anil Vij met with an accident on the KMP highway near Bahadurgarh on Saturday. The minister was unhurt.
Police said Vij’s cavalcade was on the way to Gurgaon when a truck hit an escort vehicle from behind. The escort vehicle then rammed into the rear of Vij’s car, which suffered a dent in the bumper.
The cavalcade stopped immediately and the driver of the truck and his helper were taken into police custody. A case of rash driving was registered against the driver. A police team also reached the spot soon after getting information. The minister left for the NCR city after a brief stopover.
Waseem Akram, the Jhajjar SP, said they had initiated an investigation into the matter. Despite repeated attempts, the minister could not be reached for a comment.
It was only a month ago that the Mercedes Benz E200 of Vij had suffered a snag on the KMP. “Escaped miraculously while traveling from Ambala Cantonment (cantt) to Gurgaon when the shocker of my official Mercedes Benz E200 broke into two pieces in a moving car on KMP road,” the minister had tweeted.
