Leopard hit by speeding vehicle, dies

Mysuru: A six-year-old leopard that was hit by a speeding vehicle on Outer Ring Road near Uttanahalli Cross has died hours after it was given medical care.
Deputy conservator of forest (in charge) D Mahesh Kumar said the leopard was hit by a vehicle late in the evening on Friday. It was rescued and given treatment. Unfortunately, the big cat died in the early hours of Saturday. The mortal remains of the big cat were disposed of as per the procedure.
The forest department has taken up a case and launched an investigation to identify the vehicle. Passers-by alerted forest department officials after recording the leopard writhing in pain on the road with injuries.
