Thiruvananthapuram: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the murder of Sharon Raj has finished preparing the chargesheet and it is likely to be submitted before the Neyyattinkara Magistrate Court-2 next week. Sharon Raj (23) of Parassala was allegedly killed by Greeshma by giving him juice laced with weedicide. Raj died in hospital on October 25 due to failure of internal organs. The chargesheet, prepared nearly 70 days after the crime, stated that Greeshma committed the murder after 10 months of planning. She tried to kill him five times before and succeeded in her sixth attempt. She chose the ‘juice challenge’ after learning about it from
Google. It also states that Greeshma’s mother and uncle have an equal role in the murder. The story of Greeshma that those who marry her will die due to issues in her horoscope was a lie. It was her desire to live with the military officer, with whom her marriage was fixed, that forced her to kill him. Greeshma tried her best to avoid Raj from her life. When her attempts failed, she decided to kill him. However, she believed that she would not get caught till the last moment, states the chargesheet.
The case probed by Parassala police had termed it a natural death and the parents of Raj had raised suspicions.
Following it, the probe was handed over to a special team of rural crime branch, headed by DSP Johnson K J.
