Mother-son duo booked for harassing his wife

Panaji: The women police station, Panaji, has registered a first information report (FIR) against Chetan Kumar Jain alias Kapse alias Chet Jain and his mother Ratna Prabha Kapse for harassing Chetan’s wife Akshita Jain.
“Both persons with their common intention, on several occasions, physically assaulted and abused the complainant (Akshita) and abandoned her, thereby subjecting her to physical and mental harassment, and emotional and financial abuse,” PI Sudiksha Naik said in the FIR.
Akshita, in her complaint, said that Chetan had a habit of constantly abandoning her without any means of survival at her disposal. “On several occasions, my husband slapped, inflicted pain and verbally abused me,” she stated.
“For the last 15 years, I have been facing constant harassment, mental abuse and cruelty at the hands of the accused. I am still trying to salvage my marriage for the sake of my growing son,” Akshita said.
“When I was abandoned in July 2017 in the US along with my son, I was left all alone. I somehow managed the affairs of the house and took care of my son for almost 4 months before returning to India in October 2017,” Akshita said in the complaint.
