Man stabbed near Union home minister’s hotel
Ranchi: Notwithstanding the high-security ring near hotel Radisson Blu where Union home minister Amit Shah is staying, a man was injured in a knife attack on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred half-an-hour before Shah was to leave the hotel for his party’s programme in Chaibasa.
SP Naushad Alam said, “The stabbing took place in a bylane about 200 yards away from the hotel. Police rushed the injured, Awadh Shah, to the hospital. The accused, Binod Oraon, has been nabbed.”
The incident was the result of a personal dispute and the assailant was a drug addict. The injured has sustained minor injuries in the hand, he added.
The entire area where the hotel is located was declared a high-security zone and police personnel were deployed in large numbers to prevent any untoward incidents.
In another incident in rural Ranchi, a man identified as Asok Mahto killed his wife Sunita Kumari (38) at Damari village under the Bundu police station on Friday evening. TNN
