Bhubaneswar: The higher education department on Saturday served a showcause notice to 19 degree colleges from the state for not updating admission data within the timeline under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for the academic session 2022-23.
These colleges had not updated the admission data of some students within the deadline. When the SAMS portal was locked following the end of the admission process, the colleges had requested the department to update the data of students taken admission before December 22 last year, said an official of the department.
“It is a gross violation of e-admission rules,” read the letter. The department has served the showcause notice to three colleges each from Khurda, Cuttack and Puri, two colleges each from Angul and Balasore, one college each from Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Nayagarh and Malkangiri. tnn
