Truck knocks down college student in Kanchipuram

CHENNAI: A 20-year-old college student was died after being run over by a speeding truck at Sriperumbudur on Thursday evening.
The youth, identified as Siva Reddy of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, was an engineering student in Thandalamand was headed to Chettipedu after finishing an exam when the accident took place.
As he was riding his bike along the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway, a lorry knocked him down. Due to the impact, he fell down and came under the front wheel of the lorry. Eyewitnesses said he was dragged for a few meters before the truck came to a halt. He died on the spot after sustaining multiple injury. The truck driver escaped even as motorists were trying to help the accident victim.
A hunt is on for the driver.
