55-year-old man held in Pocso case

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested a 55-year-old KSRTC employee under Pocso Act for sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl and compelling her elope with him.
Accused Prakashan (55), an Ayiroor native, was the vehicle supervisor at Parassala KSRTC depot. He befriended the girl through social media and later the accused compelled the girl to elope with him.
On December 2 morning, the girl left for school and met the accused who was waiting for her at Varkala railway station. They left for Ernakulam by train and stayed at a hotel.
After she failed to get back home in the evening, the parents of the girl filed a case at Ayiroor police station. In the investigation conducted focusing on the mobile tower location, the accused was arrested from a hotel in Ernakulam.TNN
