DM: Complete under-construction CETP in time

Kanpur: District magistrate Vishak G Iyer visited the under-construction 20 mld Common Effluent Treatment Plant in Jajmau on Thursday and asked the working agency to finish the construction work in the stipulated time given by Rashtriya Swachh Ganga Mission.
The DM said so far about 70 percent of CETP work has been completed. The work of the CCRU unit is complete, its hydro test should be expedited. He has directed the agency to complete the construction work as soon as possible after obtaining the permission from Kesco and the National Highway Authority of India.
The implementation, maintenance and operation of the said project is to be done by the Jajmau Tannery Effluent Treatment Association (JATETA). A 200 kl pilot Zero Liquid Discharge unit is also being constructed in this CETP in which treatment will be done without any liquid discharge. TNN
