Man dies by suicide with two children

Kalaburagi: A 35-year-old man committed suicide along with his two children on Friday by drowning in an open well on the outskirts of Aland town near the KSRTC bus depot here.
The deceased have been identified as father Siddu Mahamallappa, 35, his daughter Shreya, 11, and son Manish, 12. The incident came to light when some people spotted two bodies in the well and alerted the police. All were residents of Sharana Nagar in Aland town. First, police fished out children's bodies from the well before finding Siddu's body after some searching.
Siddu’s wife passed away a couple of years ago and he found it very difficult to manage life with his children. “He was depressed and upset about their future. When he could not find any solution to his problems, he decided to take the extreme step along with his children,” said Siddu’s neighbours.
Police in Aland registered a case and handed over the mortal remains of the deceased to Siddu's relatives.
